You can easily connect any custom domain name to a SiteSwan website, whether it’s “yourname.com,” “yourname.net,” or any other custom domain. The exact steps may vary depending on your domain registrar, so it’s a good idea to check their specific instructions or contact their support team for guidance. If you need further assistance, you can grant us access to your domain by submitting a ticket, and we’ll handle the connection for you to ensure your domain is properly configured and seamlessly linked to your SiteSwan site.
1. Use an existing domain or purchase a new one from any registrar including:
- CheapNEasyDomains
- GoDaddy
2. Login to the domain registrar account and locate the section for managing DNS Settings. This is often labeled as "Manage DNS" or "Zone File Editor"
3. Find the CNAME record for "www" and edit it to point to domain.multisiteadmin.com (If no CNAME record for "www" exists, create one with this value)
4. Locate the existing "A Record" for "@" and update it to point to 50.17.250.125 (If no A record for "@" exists, create one with this value)
5. Add an additional "A Record" for "@" and set it to point to 54.164.59.88 (Ensure that you only have two "A Records" for "@," one pointing to 50.17.250.125 and the other to 54.164.59.88. Delete any additional "A Records" for "@" that may exist.)
6. Head over to your website and click on Settings > Domain Name from the editor and enter the domain name in the field provided. Click "Save".
Please Note:
- It can take up to 72 hours for the change to fully take place so please be patient.
- You do not need to change the domain's nameservers, only the CNAME Record and the two A Records.
- You do not need to purchase any hosting services for the domain.
- If you need further assistance, you can grant us access to your domain by submitting a ticket, and we'll connect it for you to ensure your domain is properly configured.
