There might be a time when you need to change the plan a client is on through Client Billing. Some situations when you need to do this include:
- The client upgrades (or downgrades) their plan
- You sell the client on an additional service (such as Reputation Management, Search Engine Submission, Social Media Marketing, etc) and you want to charge them a new monthly fee that includes that service
- You decide to increase your prices
Whatever the reason, you can change a client's plan by following the steps below:
STEP 1 - From the Site Details page, click on "Cancel Subscription" in the Client Billing window.
(Yes, you will need to cancel the current subscription in order to change the plan. Don't worry, the customer's credit card information will be saved so you can move them to a new plan.)
STEP 2 - You will then be prompted to confirm the cancellation and choose whether you want to keep the site online or take it offline when their billing is cancelled. If you're simply changing the plan, you will likely keep the site online. Once you click on the "Yes, Cancel Subscription" button to cancel the subscription, your client will no longer be charged.
STEP 3 - Click on "Reactivate Client Billing" to start the process of assigning a new plan to your client's account.
STEP 4 - Choose a new plan.
You can either choose from your existing plans if you offer different packages or even create a new plan. For example, let's say you have a website client that you sold Reputation Management to as well. You can create a new plan called "Website + Reputation Management" and enter the associated price. Click on "Complete Order" to finalize the transaction.
Note: Remember to change or remove the setup fee (if applicable) and select a start date for the first recurring payment to be charged to your client's credit card.
